About Us

FBR Licensed Integrator

Officially authorized by FBR to connect your system to PRAL.

Only companies with a valid FBR license can legally configure your electronic invoicing software for real-time transmission to PRAL. This requirement comes directly from Sales Tax Circular No. 1 of 2025 and is reinforced by SRO 69(I)/2025. Using an unlicensed provider — or attempting a DIY integration — means your invoices may transmit but will not carry the legal standing required by FBR, exposing you to penalties under Section 33 of the Sales Tax Act.

The licensing requirements are strict. To obtain FBR authorization, an integrator must have proven ERP and payment system integration expertise, a minimum paid-up capital of Rs. 10 million, registration with PSEB or ICAP, audited financials for at least three years, and a dedicated technical team. Taxonomy meets all of these criteria and holds a valid FBR integration license.

What this means for your business: when you connect through Taxonomy, you are using an officially authorized pathway to PRAL. Your invoices carry IRNs that are recognized as legally valid. Your buyers can claim their input tax. And your business is protected from the enforcement actions that FBR began rolling out in January 2026.

Key benefits

FBR-authorized connectivity

Taxonomy holds a valid FBR integration license. Every invoice transmitted through Taxonomy uses an officially authorized pathway to PRAL — your IRNs are legally recognized, not just technically generated.

No IP whitelisting required

FBR requires that only approved IP addresses connect to PRAL’s API. Taxonomy manages this entirely — your team works from any location or internet connection without technical restrictions.

Sandbox testing included

Before go-live, Taxonomy runs full sandbox testing with PRAL to validate invoice formats, tax calculations, and STRN checks. You go live knowing every invoice type your business issues has already been verified.

Ongoing compliance support

FBR regularly updates its technical specifications and SROs. Taxonomy monitors these changes and updates the integration automatically — you do not need to track regulatory changes yourself.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What makes Taxonomy a licensed integrator and not just invoicing software?

Taxonomy holds a valid license issued by FBR authorizing us to configure registered persons’ electronic invoicing software for real-time PRAL transmission. Generic invoicing software does not hold this license and cannot legally perform this function.

Can I use PRAL’s free integration instead of a licensed integrator?

Yes, PRAL offers a free direct integration option. However, it requires significant technical setup, your own IP whitelisting, and your team to manage API authentication and error handling. Most businesses find a licensed integrator faster to deploy and easier to maintain.

What happens if my integrator loses their FBR license?

Your transmissions would no longer be legally authorized. This is why choosing a financially stable, properly licensed integrator matters. Taxonomy maintains active licensing and you will be notified of any compliance status changes.

Does Taxonomy display the ‘Integrated with FBR’ signboard requirement?

The signboard requirement applies to your business premises, not your software provider. Taxonomy will provide you with your integration registration details so you can display the required notice at your point of sale or office.

How many licensed integrators does FBR currently recognize?

As of the latest available information, a limited number of private companies have received FBR integration licenses. The licensing process is rigorous — more than 30 companies were awaiting approval when SRO 69(I)/2025 was issued. Taxonomy is among the authorized providers.
